Nvidia on OVS 2.2

2013/03/12

Have a need to setup Nvidia driver on the OVS 2.2 server to support dual monitor but failed to do it for lon time. Thus, I left it as ‘mirror’ mode for quite a while.

Finally, I managed to have it done after few test and research. It works well now in twin-view mode as extended desktop.

The same technique doesn’t work with my older versions of Nvidia driver (v260, v275). At least it works with the latest version v320.

Android-x86 4.2 test release

2013/03/06

Android-x86.org has released the test version of 4.2 (Jellybean). It is able to boot up on my Ideapad S10e but the programs downloaded from 4.0.3 simply hang and get kill dialog box from the system.

If WiFi is connected, the system simply black out the screen and no response (except the Caplock light keep blinking) for a while and a reboot is resulted.

Don’t have time to tweak too much.

Android-x86 ICS on Ideapad S10e

2013/02/20

Failed to use 4.x Android on my Ideapad for both RC1 and RC2. They simply hang there.

Just found that there is a thinkpad universal version with 4.0.3 but offer as torrent download. Thanks for Stefan Seidel who made it happened.

Managed to find alternative download and try. It works like a charm on my lenovo Ideapad S10e and also works on my Toshiba Tecra M6, Toshiba Portégé M500.

Few things not working
– ‘Home’ key not working
– touchpad behave as touchscreen (still works but not easy to use at all)
– cannot use fake SD card.
Otherwise, it is almost prefect for me as v2.3 can use Wifi while all readers simply close in few second. Compare to v3.2, v4.0.3 can use Wifi so that I can install programs directly from Google Play.

MySword 3.1 provides multilingual interface

2012/05/15

MySword team has released the 3.1 RC9 which supports multilingual interface. Following languages are provide for the moment:

  • Chinese (Simplified & Traditional)
  • Hungarian
  • Italian
  • Korean
  • Portuguese-BR
  • Tagalog

Few other languages are coming. Its modules format are very close to e-Sword v9/v10 (sqlite) modules. Someone even rename the modules so that they can be use.

After I tried it, few minor issues still detected. Thus, I updated my utility in order to export my existing e-sword modules more precisely.
